Page 1 of 5 The OSU Microarray Core Facility is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for microarray production and analysis Arrayers | Nano-dispensing | Scanners | Workstations and Servers | Additional Arrayers: OMCF High-capacity Microarray Printing: OmniGrid100: The OmniGrid 100 microarrayer can print biological samples on standard sized glass slides, 100 slides at a time. Printing is from microtiter plates with 96 or 384 wells. A server arm allows up to 72 source plates to be used. The resolution is 2.5 micons along the X and Y axes and 1.25 microns along the Z axis. Features are printed as 100 to 200 micron spots, size depending on tip type used. The positioning system is high speed and uses high-reliability brushless DC servo motors. The instrument is enclosed in a humidity controlled chamber. New Telechem 946 printing pins give a theoretical capability of over 100,000 features (spots) per microscope slide. Bring your genome to us and we can print it for you at a VERY reasonable cost! Cartesian Technologies: The Cartesian system can hold up to 32 micro spotting pins, 50 slides and up to 50, 384-well microtiter plates providing the capacity to produce high-density microarrays with more than 20,000 DNA spots per slide from at least 18,000 biological samples with microspots ranging from about 70-200 microns in diameter. The PixSys 5500 is a multi-axis microarrayer that prints biological samples onto 25mm x 75mm glass substrates. The PixSys 5500 is operated by a dedicated Dell Dimension 440 using CloneTracker CE data management software and AxSys software. The OMCF PixSys 5500 has been fitted with a Majer MicroQuill 32 array pin holder which holds companion MicroQuill 2000 pins, which have an anti-rotation feature and are spring-loaded to aid in returning pins to a positive home position. (User's Manual - PDF) A 50-plate capacity PegaSys robotic plate stacker functions with this arrayer for automated processing of microtiter plates to enhance high-throughput microarray printing. The addition of this plate stacker system assists researchers in production of microarrays by allowing increased throughput and reducing the extended pause required for manual plate switching. The PegaSys 150 is also operated using CloneTracker CE data management software and AxSys software. (User's Manual - PDF)
