DESCRIPTION

Investigators contemplating or pursuing studies in differential gene expression are invited to participate in OSU's comprehensive, hands-on workshop on DNA Microarraying. This entry-level workshop will lead participants through the processes and techniques for designing, printing, hybridizing, scanning, and analyzing spotted microarrays. This course is designed for participants with a working knowledge and understanding of molecular biology and molecular genetics theory and techniques. This course uses Windows-based computers. The cost of $300 will cover expenses for all instruction, laboratory supplies, use of equipment and a lab manual. Course credit is available (OSU students). COST
$300 per person.  Your registration fee will cover expenses for all instruction, laboratory supplies, use of equipment and a lab manual. Daily cookie and coffee breaks are also included. Out of town participants can arrange hotel accommodations by calling the Student Union Hotel at 405-744-6835 and daily commuters can contact the OSU Police Department (405-744-6525) for a daily parking permit.

WHO CAN ATTEND: ANYBODY!  This event is open to all faculty, staff, students, and OUTSIDE participants interested in microarray technology.  However, space is limited to the first 12 registrants and sessions will be filled on a first-come basis.  Download and complete the registration form then fax it to 405-744-8491. This Workshop course can be taken for OSU graduate course credit.

  • OSU graduate students may register for 1 credit hour
  • Graduate credit is a two-step process. First you must register for the workshop, paying the $300. Then get a permission slip from Dr. Hoyt to register for the course (TBA)
  • Normal tuition fees are required for course credit, but are not included in the registration fee, and fees can not be waived
